    Technology

    Senior Computer Lab
Doomadgee State School has 2 fully equipped computer labs, one in the library, the other a dedicated computer lab. All teaching blocks are linked by high speed fibre optic and have a permanent ADSL link to the Education Queensland WAN (Wide Area Network).

The majority of students attending Doomadgee State School do not have access to computers at home. For this reason the school has a substantial budget for computer resources and a comprehensive education strategy gives students as much exposure to computers and their operation as possible.

Most classrooms have 3 or more computers and a current student to computer ratio of 4.6:1. Recently Doomadgee State School has installed fixed mount data projectors in each class room, this coupled with wireless  keyboards and mice alows delivery of electronic content to the entire class.  The wireless keyboard and mouse allow the teacher to freely operate the projection from any point in the class room and gives ablility of student interaction without the student needing to leaving his/her desk.

Doomadgee has a very active physical education program. The pool is a valuable school and community resource. In the hotter months, volunteer staff offer their time to supervise students for after hours access.
The swimming pool received a $150,000.00 upgrade at the commencement of 1999.
